Question by Victor: What should I do with this wine fridge that my wife just gave me?
She gave me only one gift, an 8-bottle wine fridge. I make wine and beer in the basement, so she was thinking this was “cool” for my hobby. Well the one little detail that she overlooked was that I don’t like any of my wine or beer chilled. I like it all around 60 degrees, and keep it in the basement at that temperature. My teeth are sensitive to cold, plus the slightly lukewarm temperature brings out the flavor of the drink.
I’m sure I have mentioned this many times over the years. Besides… wouldn’t she notice that I NEVER put wine or beer in the refrigerator, and all of my stash is sitting in my man cave, unchilled?
Anyway… what do I do with the fridge? It’s from Target and easily returnable. Do I tell her or just take it back? Or put it under the workbench and forget about it?
She won’t drink my beer, she buys her own. Even if I make an outstanding similar recipe to what she likes, she still will not drink it, because it’s something I touched.

jeez, don’t take it so personally. you can always keep a bar or chocolate or cheese in there. maybe she likes cold beer? im sure you would be flattered if she chose your beer over commercial beer.

keep the wine in the wine fridge and then just don’t plug it in..in the basement would be a likely place
why make her upset over a simple answer?
Hey come on! you could always put the wine in it that you make for your wife to enjoy chilled! maybe its a hint that she wants chilled wine once in a while.
Its not the end of the world.
I don’t even know what I have yet as my boyfriend will not be here till later (its 1:50pm in Scotland). and to be honest it doesnt bother me if he gives me nothing, he gave me a card, i have him, i have my son and that s enough for me!!
But my 7 year old son ot me a wireless keyboard for my iPad.
EDIT: if she wont take anything you’ve touched then i think you have marital issues!!
Make some wine and beer that will taste nice cold.
may be she likes it chilled
Did you ever think that your guests like it cold? You can also adjust the thermostat in it.
It’s not always about you…maybe she wants to enjoy the product that you made.
before buying you a gift she needs to know more about your hobby & your preferences. she needs to know more about you. how can your wife not know that you have sensitive teeth? i think the two of you just need to talk & get to know each other.
take it back together & show her what you like.
It’s a good place for cheese and meat snacks to go along with the beer and wine.
Use it for snacks in the ole man cave. keep fave cold cuts and sodas and juice. things you like chilled. If you have kids it is off limits so you can keep what you like in there. Call it the man fridge!
Regift it
Boy, you are a bit angry with each other, aren’t you? OK, two choices. Return it and tell her you wont use it because you don’t refridgerate your drinks, but get something else you like instead, or use it to store your beer & wine, but don’t turn it on. Personally, I’d return it. Also, I wont try my friend’s home made BBQ sauce, not because I don’t trust the taste, but because I worry that if he did something wrong, he could poison me. Maybe she has the same fear. Other than this, it seems you both are really angry with each other, solve that problem.
