What is your take on “weed” (marijuana) being used to assist in fighting off PARVO (Parvovirus)?

Question by reyrey003: What is your take on “weed” (marijuana) being used to assist in fighting off PARVO (Parvovirus)?
Not that I’m gonna do it, but…
I have a 6month old chihuahua that was diagnosed with parvo just yesterday. I don’t have the money to hospitalize him, so the vet prescribed antibiotics and wished me luck at home. He has no diet at all and continues to vomit and drop some diarrhea. It isn’t bloody droppings, but I know that it will start to have blood as death comes closer.
He vomits the medication. So I’m thinking…if you can relax the stomach and induce an appetite, the body can consume food and allow the medication to go to work. Drink liquids and avoid dehydration. weed might do the trick.
I’ve been an “on and off” smoker of weed for a while now. And whenever I had the flu, or my stomach was upset, getting high would calm nausea and make me hungry again. There is a ridiculous amount of people can prove that weed is great when you have influenza….so I’m know I’m not crazy.
What do you think? Should I get him high so that he may live?
I need expert advise, time is of the essence.
I work and I got bills. Times are hard and I have a son and a wife. Therefore my funds are not sufficient enough to afford hospitalization. In my eyes hospitalization is DEFINITELY what’s needed.
MARIJUANA can be ingested in ways other than SMOKE. Therefore I am eliminating the thought of consumption via respiratory method.
perhaps as a tea? Some kind of rectally inserted capsule?(obviously that’s unobtainable)
Please, expert advice. No pricks typing crap over the internet

  1. take the puppy to a SPCA or humane society vet and surrender him or he will die.
don’t force him to drink or eat as it will make him more sick.
Best would be if you go to a vet(another vet) get I.V. liquids given every day and medication that’s injected to stop the vomiting+diarrhea and take the dog home every day.
i had a high school friend, who did this:his puppy had Parvo and the pup survived-no hospital stay.
also, the puppy was a little older, like yours:6-7 months.
If he is alive in 48 hours that’s a good sign.
Let his digestive system rest, the weed may or may not help,i have no clue.
look in the phone book for the nearby SPCA/Humane society, they are open on weekends.
